Suggestion Box

Welcome to the Suggestion Box page. We've set up the opportunity for anyone to make suggestions anonymously and to have those suggestions taken into consideration.
We welcome any and all suggestions, comments, criticisms and we will post and answer them. Each will considered. Here is a list of suggestions we received at the June Rochester show as well as the charter's decision regarding the suggestion. Please understand that we cannot grant every suggestion, but each one will be discussed among the officers. The Suggestion Box is completely anonymous and will be at each IRHA show. Those with suggestion can also email them to Miriam Farrell.

Suggestions received are in black. IRHA responses are in red.

1. Some kind of kids activities, maybe some fun classes on Friday night, or a kids morning with teenager supervised fun activities, to encourage more youth.
We would love to have more activities for kids! If someone is willing to volunteer to be in charge of this please contact Miriam Farrell.
For 2013, thanks to Jill Dillman, we have held a few activities for the kids. Jill organized a scavenger hunt during the May show with fun prizes. For the June show she had bubbles for the kids to play with. Not sure what the Sept show holds for them, stay tuned!!!

2. Move cattle practice, we can't participate if we show Conformation, would it be easier to fit in between riding classes vs. classes w/o a saddle?
Unfortunately, cattle practice has to be on Sunday morning since this is our largest time slot for an open practice in that arena. We also have to be done prior to the cattle provider arriving to load the cattle Sunday afternoon.

3. More centralized location or vary locations more, spreading shows out across the state. There are never shows held in the southern part of the state.
We are going to continue to utilize Cloverdale which is hopefully centrally located for everyone. Since Rochester was willing to work with the IRHA to build cattle pens to save on facility set up and reduce the cost to host the show we will continue to host shows there as well. If you have suggestions of specific facilities that are cattle friendly please let us know and we will be happy to look into it.

4. To encourage new members to learn as they show, you need a Green as Grass cutting class.
We wish we could add more classes, however due to time and cattle constraints we are not able to at this time. We did add the Cattle boxing class and are offering the Cattle practice to try to encourage new members to get involved.
